Winter Mitsubishi Maintenance Tips

November 4th, 2018 by

Clarksville, IN experiences the full wrath of winter, from freezing temperatures to ice-ridden roads. Unbeknownst to many, vehicles can be negatively affected by winter’s elements. As your local Mitsubishi dealer, we want to offer up a few tips for how to get your Mitsubishi Outlander or Mirage ready for the upcoming months. When it comes to preparing for adverse weather and road conditions, a little preparation goes a long way.

We advise a check-up on y vehicle to ensure everything is running smoothly. The last thing you want is to turn on the heater and find it’s not working. In our Mitsubishi service center, we’ll test your vehicle’s lights and heating system, and check the status of your tires, tire pressure, wiper blades, and fluids.

Just like an oil change, you should change your wiper blades twice a year, which means that now may the perfect time to get a set that is explicitly made for cold weather; we also suggest cold-weather washer fluid. Low temperatures deplete your tire pressure more quickly and can cause moisture to build up in your gas tank, which has the potential to freeze. To mitigate any issues, keep your tank at least half full and check your tire pressure regularly. For every 10-degree drop in temperature, your tires can lose 1 PSI.

When it comes to other components, visit our Mitsubishi service center. Our factory-trained technicians will ensure that every area of your vehicle is ready for the colder months.
